Keyboard shortcuts

PropUI's shortcuts are shared across its lists. A shortcut acts on whichever list is the current shortcut target.

Choosing the active list

The active target is chosen by:

  • Clicking a list.
  • Pressing Shortcuts Affect This List above a list.
  • Using the Shortcuts Affect menu.
  • Some nested lists (such as Dynamic Labels and Display Link Component Subset) expose their own shortcut-target button.

Available targets: Disabled, Entry List, Generated Layout, UI Variants, Generated UIs, Row Boxes, Visible When Items, Component Subset, Dynamic Labels, Dynamic Text, Dynamic Labels by Other Entry.

Target-specific behavior

  • Entry List: add, remove, duplicate, move, hide, collapse, parent, indent, outdent, and clear-parent affect entries.
  • Generated Layout: add imports/adds layout entries; remove removes the selected item or sub-panel; duplicate duplicates it; move moves rows/sub-panels; indent/outdent groups rows or nests/outdents sub-panels; collapse toggles the row group or sub-panel; Alt+P ungroups selected row groups.
  • UI Variants: add, remove, duplicate, move, save, and load affect variants.
  • Generated UIs: remove and move affect rows. Add/duplicate do nothing here.
  • Row Boxes: add, remove, move up/down affect row boxes.
  • Visible When Items: add, remove, move up/down affect visibility items.
  • Editor Layout: W / S move the selected staged layout row, and H toggles the selected hideable section, before Apply List State.
  • Component Subset: add, remove, move up/down affect Display Link component subset rows.
  • Dynamic Labels / Dynamic Text / Dynamic Labels by Other Entry: add, remove, duplicate, move up/down affect the active dynamic rule list.

Actions that change authored list data create exactly one Blender Undo step, including actions completed through a confirmation dialog. List selection and other editor-only navigation stay outside Undo History.

Enabling, disabling, and rebinding

All of this lives in Blender Preferences → Add-ons → izom PropUI → Shortcuts:

  • Disable every shortcut. Turn on Disable Keyboard Shortcuts to switch off all PropUI shortcuts at once. This also hides the shortcut-target controls (the Shortcuts Affect This List buttons and menu) in the editor.
  • Disable one shortcut. Each shortcut is listed using Blender's standard keymap UI, so you can untick an individual shortcut's checkbox to disable just that one while keeping the rest.
  • Rebind a shortcut. In the same list, click a shortcut's key field and press a new combination to change its binding.
Every shortcut is a normal keymap row — untick one to disable it, or click its key field to rebind.

When shortcuts fire

Shortcuts only fire when PropUI shortcuts are enabled and the current editor area is one where the PropUI editor is allowed to live. In the 3D Viewport sidebar, Full-edition shortcuts respond only while the PropUI tab is active, so an adjacent PropUI Rigify tab can safely use overlapping bindings. See Add-on Preferences.
