Control Groups & actions
Full and Rigify can add shared action buttons for related controls. A Control Group is a name shared by the controls and the Operator Button entries that act on them.
Add group actions
- Give the related entries the same Control Group name under Value/Source → Actions.
- Choose Entry Tools → Add Control Group Actions beside the Entry List.
- Add the action buttons and their managed group members to Generated Layout.
- Generate the panel, or generate the rig through Rigify.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Reset | Restores authored defaults, or the original Blender property's defaults. |
| Key | Inserts keys at the current frame for supported group members. |
| Unkey | Removes keys at the current frame for supported group members. |
| Save Values | Saves the group's current values under a preset name. |
| Apply Values | Restores a saved value preset. |
Groups support scalar controls, dropdowns and fixed numeric/Boolean arrays. Strings support value presets but cannot be keyed. Keying uses the current Action slot and respects locked channels, drivers and source editability. Managed members need a Generated Layout placement so their generated storage is available.
Value presets
A value preset remembers live values. It is separate from an entry preset, setup default or Blender pose asset.
The save dialog identifies the storage owner. Values live on the first target's
owning data-block inside the .blend; save that file to keep them. Applying a
preset checks the complete group before changing values. If you rebind the
group's sources, save a new preset for the new sources.
Full presets survive ordinary panel regeneration. Rigify follows its normal property-preservation behavior. Setup exports carry the action and preset name; the saved live values remain with the owning Blender data.
Bone Collection controls
Entry Tools → Add Bone Collection Controls creates visibility and solo controls for a chosen armature collection, with optional Select and Deselect buttons. Selection requires that armature to be active in Pose Mode.
In Rigify, controls authored for a metarig collection resolve onto the matching generated rig collection. An explicit external armature reference continues to target that external armature.
Ordinary operator buttons
Operator Button entries can also run Blender operators or operators from enabled add-ons. Their Emboss setting supplies a normal button body; Pressed Visual supplies a fixed pressed appearance. It does not turn an action into a stateful toggle.
See the Operator Button reference for run modes, context and operator-property JSON.
