Quickstart (Free edition)

This is the full workflow for the Free edition. By the end you'll have managed custom properties on an Object and a generated panel in the 3D Viewport sidebar.

Where the editor lives

The Free editor lives in the 3D Viewport sidebar. Press N in the 3D Viewport to open the sidebar, then select the PropUI tab.

Steps

  1. Open the editor: in the 3D Viewport sidebar, find PropUI.
  2. Choose an Object in Property Storage. This Object receives the generated custom properties.
  3. Add entries in the Entry List.
  4. Configure the selected entry.
  5. Add entries into Generated Layout so they appear in the output.
  6. Arrange simple rows, or group entries into shared rows.
  7. Set the Sidebar Tab and Panel Title.
  8. Press Generate UI.

Generate applies the managed custom properties to the chosen Object and registers the generated 3D Viewport sidebar panel.

Two layers, same as Full

Entries you author (the Entry List) are separate from where they appear (the Generated Layout). Nothing shows in the panel until you add it to the Generated Layout. This is the same model described in the Full docs' core concepts.
