Free edition
Features & limits
Everything the Free edition supports, and where each feature stops.
Supported entries
| Entry | What it makes in Free |
|---|---|
| Float | A numeric custom property with limits, precision, slider-style display, and value-driven Dynamic Labels. |
| Integer | A plain integer custom property drawn as a number field. |
| Boolean | A checkbox or toggle-style custom property with per-state labels. |
| Array | A float, integer, or boolean array custom property. |
| Text | A generated text, divider, or spacer row. |
The Full edition adds more entry types and deeper display tools — Custom paths, Operator Buttons, Display Links, String, Data-Block, and Python entries. See the entry type reference for what those do.
Property storage
Free uses Object storage only. Pick the Object that should receive the generated custom properties; every entry uses that Object as its storage target, and Generate updates the managed properties there before the panel is registered.
The Full edition supports 38 storage target types and per-entry target overrides.
Generated Layout
Generated Layout controls where authored entries appear in the generated panel.
- Add an Entry List item into Generated Layout to make it appear in the output.
- Reorder rows with the layout list controls.
- Group entries into shared rows to put multiple controls on one line.
- Shared row groups are capped at three items in the free edition.
- Row height can be set from 1 to 2.
- Left indent is a simple on/off option with a fixed compact indent.
Sub-panels, row boxes, custom column weights, right inset, and advanced row movement are Full-edition layout tools — see Building layouts.
Conditions
Child Visibility lets a child entry appear only when its parent entry matches the configured state or value. Free keeps the visibility workflow and parent/child hierarchy.
Child Availability (keeping a child visible but enabling/disabling it) is a Full-edition feature.
Dynamic Labels
Dynamic Labels can change a supported property entry's label based on that entry's own value. Free uses direct value-driven labels only.
Conditional labels driven by other entries, and Dynamic Text labels, are Full-edition features — see Dynamic labels & conditions.
Setup Transfer
Free 1.1 can export the current setup to JSON, import setup JSON, and copy or paste setup JSON through the clipboard. The portable format works across the Full, Free, and Rigify editions wherever Free has an equivalent feature.
When importing a Full or Rigify setup, Free:
- Keeps Float, Integer, Boolean, Array, and Text entries and their supported hierarchy and row settings.
- Reattaches compatible descendants when an unsupported parent is removed.
- Flattens sub-panels into ordered rows and splits rows wider than Free's three-column limit.
- Can adapt Rigify shared bone storage to a selected armature Object.
- Reports unsupported entry types, row boxes, advanced layout settings, visibility targets, and per-entry storage overrides instead of silently discarding them.
Bundle ZIP transfer, generated .py export, Editor Settings JSON, entry
presets, type defaults, and saved defaults remain Full-edition tools.
Editor Settings
The free Editor Settings section keeps Full Factory Reset. This removes
PropUI editor data from the current .blend and clears saved PropUI defaults
used by the free edition.
